The company was founded in December 2003 as a spin-off of Dr. Straetmans Chemische Produkte GmbH, which was founded by Dr. Udo Straetmans and is now part of Evonik. Over the years, the company has proven itself in various industries and is positioned as an innovation leader in the field of technical applications.
Our customers come from the paint and coatings industry, the cooling lubricants sector, and the metalworking and metal cleaning industries in general. Thanks to our highly qualified research and development team and our dedicated sales and production partners, we are able to respond flexibly to our customers’ individual needs. Management
Founded Straetmans High TAC GmbH in late 2003 with his father, Dr. Udo Straetmans, as a spin-off from Dr. Straetmans Chemische Produkte GmbH, now Evonik.

More than 40 years ago, Dr. Udo Straetmans founded Dr. Straetmans Chemische Produkte GmbH (now Evonik Dr. Straetmans GmbH).
As the company increasingly shifted its focus toward cosmetics, he founded Straetmans High TAC GmbH in December 2003 together with his son Felix Straetmans in order to refocus on technical additives.
At over 80 years old, Dr. Udo Straetmans is no longer involved in day-to-day operations, but he continued to serve as a senior managing director, offering his many years of experience in an advisory capacity until early 2026.
Dr. Marko Soltau
Head of R&D
He studied chemistry and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Natural Sciences.
He has been with Straetmans High TAC GmbH, Technical Additives & Chemicals, since 2007.
He is Head of Research and Development, focusing on new inhibitor concepts for the paint and coatings industry.
Benjamin Traxel
Technical Sales Manager
After completing his training as a paint technician, he worked in the research and development of paint systems for the industrial and rail sectors from 2010 to 2017.
Since 2017, he has served as Head of Technical Sales at Straetmans High TAC GmbH, where his responsibilities include corrosion protection additives for paints and coatings.
Tatjana Straetmans
Back office
As a trained bank clerk, she has been providing active support behind the scenes at HighTAC since 2018, allowing the rest of the team to focus on their core responsibilities.
